ENRE 640 - Collection/Analysis of Reliability Data (3 sem. hrs)

Topics include definition of reliability data, types of data, definition of failure, success and other reliability performance measures, data collection and data reporting systems, classification and characterization of field and test data and development of statistical evidence from data. Classical and Bayesian methods of data analysis are discussed including graphical techniques of reliability parameter estimation, best fit, regression methods, test of hypothesis, maximum likelihood estimator, extrapolation techniques, foundation of Bayesian methods, Bayesian techniques for estimation of reliability parameter distributions, treatment of homogeneous and non-homogeneous data, analysis of imprecise data, and elicitation and use of expert opinion and engineering judgment.
