Student Program

Attendance at PSA-99 is an excellent opportunity for students interested in probabilistic safety assessment theory and application. To help defray the cost of attending this international conference, students can sign up to work as session chairs’ assistants and perform other light administrative duties and still attend sessions and participate in a majority of conference activities. Students who apply and are accepted will receive free conference registration and a free copy of the conference proceedings. To take advantage of this opportunity or to request more information, contact Gary Pertmer at 301-405-5227 (phone) or pertmer@eng.umd.edu; or Charles Young at 703-451-5409 or cdnsyoung@aol.com. .

This opportunity is available to students that are not representing their schools as presenters or a part of a paper presentation team. All students must pay for their room and other expenses. Students may apply for free meeting registration and a free copy of the conference proceedings by contacting the individuals identified above and submitting an advanced registration form accompanied by a recommendation from their Department Head or Academic counselor. Please refer to the Hotel Reservation and Advanced Registration announcements for information about the conference. Announcement of student headquarters location for the conference will be provided to those students whose applications are accepted for waiver of conference registration fees.
