IFMAA is an international association under development. It has not been formalized yet, however, the following introduction is available for public.
 

1. PURPOSES of IFMAA

In order to achieve this a number of activities are being performed. Prime among these are:
            (1) to form an organizing committee,
 
            (2) to register the organization formally,

            (3) to set up the bylaws,

            (4) to develop a business plan (strategy in the short and long run),

            (5) to continue the development of a home page.
 

2. STATUS

The following organizations have expressed interest in joining the IFMAA: Institute for Energy Technology (Norway), University of Maryland (USA), Risø National Laboratory (Denmark), Technical University of Denmark (Denmark), Institute for Systems, Informatics, and Safety, JRC Ispra (Italy), EdF (France) and the University of Sendai (Japan).
  

3. TEMPORARY IFMAA ORGANISING COMMITTEE

In order to bring the IFMAA into existence, a temporary committee is established. The members of the committee serve for a period of one year starting July 1st, 1996. At the first ordinary assembly of the IFMAA, which will take part in conjunction with the 5th IFMAA workshop in July 1st-3rd 1997, the members of the permanent committee will be elected according to the rules of the bylaws.
