1. University of Maryland Academic Positions

2003 - present, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maryland, Teaching and research in Probabilistic Risk Assessment, Reliability Engineering, and Modeling Complex Systems.

2001 – Present,  Director, Graduate Program in Nuclear Engineering

1992 -2003, Professor, Department of Materials and Nuclear Engineering, University of Maryland.

2001 – 2003, Director, Reliability Engineering Program, University of Maryland. Admissions, course offerings and budget.  Also, initiated and developed the plan and proposal, and implementation of the Graduate Reliability Engineering Program at the University of Maryland in 1984-1989.

1990 - 1992,   Acting Director, Reliability Engineering Program.   Also developed the plan and proposal, and pursued formation of the Program in 1984-1990.

1986 - 1992,   Associate Professor, Department of Material and Nuclear Engineering.

1982 - 1986,   Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering.


2. Non Academic Positions

Jan. 1992 - Nov. 1992,  Visiting Professor, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  Worked on a variety of topics, including risk-informed regulation concept and assessment of the NRC's Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) capabilities.

Dec. 1979 - July 1982,  Reliability and Safety Analyst, Science Applications International Corp., Bethesda Maryland. Performed PRA for two U.S. Nuclear Power Plants.
