December 1981 - Jun. 1982,  Member, Writing Group for the "PRA Procedures Guide" (NUREG/CR-2300) a major effort to develop a comprehensive guide to perform PRA.

July 1982 - Nov. 1983,  Training and Educational Program on PRA for the NRC's Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research.

January 1983 - Jul. 1985,   Chairman, Technical Integration Group - DOE Information Systems  Project, a major research effort for information integration at nuclear plants, University Research Foundation, University of Maryland.

January 1983 - Jun. 1984,   Member, the Peer Review Group on Pressurized Thermal Shock, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

September 1982 - Jan. 1983,  Member, Ad-Hoc Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Research, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

March 1983 - Aug. 1983,  Member, Advisory Committee on RMIEP, Risk Methodology Integration and Evaluation Program, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

October 1982 - Jul. 1983,   Member, Technical Review Board, Pickard, Lowe and Garrick, Inc.  This group was responsible for the review of the Seabrook Power Plant PRA.

January 1988 - Present,    Fellow, American Nuclear Society; Chair, Human Factors Division (1996 - 1997); Chair, ANS Human Factors Division AI Committee (1988-1994); Chair, ANS Human Factors Program Committee (1990 - 1992); Reactor Safety Program Committee (1993 - 1997, Chair, 1997-1998).

February 1990 - Oct. 1997,  Expert Reviewer, Renewing the BWR MARK-I Liner Melt-through  Issue (NUREG/CR-5423 and NUREG/CR-6109) for the NRC.  Also, Review of the resolution of the Direct Containment Heating issue for the NRC (NUREG/CR-6075, and NUREG/CR-6109).

September 1992 - Feb. 1992,  Performed cooperative effort with the Commission of European Based Communities -Joint Research Center in Ispra, Italy in the development of real-time expert system (FORMENTOR) and other risk-based analyses.

January 1993 - Apr. 1998,  Guest Editor, Reliability Engineering and System Safety Journal (special issue on Intelligent Systems). Also, Guest Editor, Reliability Engineering and System Safety Journal (special issue on Functional Modeling).

September 1995 - Dec. 1995,  Member of Technical Peer Review for Soviet-Designed Reactor Fire Protection Upgrade.

May 1982 - December 1984,  Consultant, Control Data Corporation, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Preparation of software related PRA courses.

January 1985 - Feb. 1988,   Consultant, TRC, Rockville, Maryland. Providing reliability and maintainability courses to electric utilities.

January 1988- January 1992,  Consultant, Brookhaven National Laboratory. Developing a review plan for the NRC’s Individual Plant Examination (IPE) of nuclear plants.

September 1988 - Present,   Consultant, Scientech Inc., Rockville, Maryland.  Participating in  several PRA related activities of the company including, review of the Savannah River Nuclear Plant PRA, review of the New Production Reactor PRAs, development of REVEAL_WTM software tools, and beyond design basis accident analysis of AP600 reactors.

March 1990 - October 1990,  Consultant, BDM Corporation.  Reliability study of the Space Station Freedom Electric Power System.

August 1990 -August 1991,  Consultant/Advisor/Lecturer for the Taiwan Atomic Energy Council, and Taiwan Power Company.  Presented several lectures and seminars  on nuclear safety and PRA.

February 1993 - Present,   Consultant, Energy Research Incorporated (ERI), Rockville, Maryland. Performing reviews of risk-based severe accident issues. Performing reviews on the Individual Plant Examination External Events (IPEEE) for the NRC.  Also, Technical Reviewer for the Direct Containment Heating issue (NUREG/CR-6075, and NUREG/CR-6109) for the NRC.

December 1994 - August 1995,  Consultant, Public Services Electric & Gas (PSE&G), Newark, NJ.  Working on expert system development for root-cause failure analysis and diagnosis.

September 1995 - Dec 1998,   Consultant, Pacific Northwest Laboratories, Battelle Memorial Institute, Review of Fire Risk Issues at the Soviet-Designed nuclear plants.

February 1999 - Dec 1999   Consultant, Teradyne, Inc. Reliability analysis methods for system evaluation.
